JBrick87@Charles88 Nice! I need to drill out mine and add magnets so they can do that too!
JBrick87@Charles88 Wow! Your polished gold steel Blue Star came out great! Did you do anything special to clean them up?
JBrick87@Charles88 Thanks for the kind words! But the real thanks here goes to the awesome Mr. Troop and his Octavirate Forge for all the really cool and useful 3d prints! Also, I hope your prints come out as good as mine have and that you enjoy them as much as I do! Now to find some magnets for the feet ...
JBrick87 I ordered these in red strong flexible polished. They are great, they just needed a bit of sanding to make them work with the Kissy Medic chest plate I ordered (because it was in FUD; link here: https://www.shapeways.com/product/DQ2WF2UYN/kissy-medic-chest-hi-def?optionId=62158954&li=marketplace).
It wasn't too much work, and the results are fantastic!
Here's a link to my video with a walkthrough for prepping this and the chest piece for use on Titans Return Chromedome/Getaway: https://youtu.be/UkwZGy1NilU
JBrick87 Finally got around to prepping and painting this chest piece. One word: Fantastic!
It is perfect for my Chromedome/Getaway-based Minerva and really upscales from the original Minerva chest piece by adding detail where its needed and not where it isn't.
That said, the FUD material needs a bit of sanding here and there if you use it with the hinges listed here (https://www.shapeways.com/product/BB9EXKXCE/titans-return-cars-chest-hinge?optionId=61889867&li=marketplace). There's a walk through on how to prepare this here: https://youtu.be/UkwZGy1NilU
However, the minor sanding is worth it for just how stunning this piece is in person. It looks good in photos, but exceptional in real life. Totally worth the cost for the higher end materials!
JBrick87 Just figured I'd post a follow-up after I'd assembled everything!
JBrick87 This faceplate is fantastic! Excellent edgework and great details show well in frosted ultra detail. I definitely recommend it!
Since I used metal flakes in the paint, the attached image has a bit of diffusion. The video below is much clearer as to the level of detail this faceplate has: https://youtu.be/FF1ntf34X50
JBrick87 I ordered both the Spike and the Bluestar, vintagey Dia-naut sized figures, and I have to say I am really impressed by these two figures. Can't wait for more!
Here's a review I did a while back that gives a much better angles of these two figures:
