InWeirdPeril's
Skeleton Rear Body Bumper Mount Set
InWeirdPeril @GCMRacing in the end, it's your decision on how to handle it. I voiced my concenr/opinion on the matter. That's all I can do. Hopefully this little chat of ours will help someone avoid buying something they can not use.
InWeirdPeril @GCMRacing I am not saying your products are bad, just that the information is spread over quite a few videos(Assembly #4 and then later the Update Video for the battery mount) and is quite thin on compatibility. Especially where you actually buy stuff. Like the shop and the Shapeways store. Anyway, a little disclaimer on items that won't work with other items like this one isn't that big of a deal right? A simple "Attention: Battery mount will not work with Dinky RC Cantilever Suspension" would be enough. Maybe it's just me tough that can't put 2 and 2 together when I follow the assembly instruction video and then see another video for these items and have to assume that they won't be compatible instead of assuming "ok, they didn't mention it won't work, so it should be fine". In any case, if these comments won't get deleted there is some mention of incompatibility at least when using the Dinky RC Cantilever Suspension.
InWeirdPeril I would advise against buying this set and instead work out your own 3d printed design. The reason being that if you use the Dinky RC Cantilever System the Battery Mount will no longer be mountable because it requires the original Shock Plates to be mounted. And they contain an major oversight on GCMs part. On the Rails there are 2 mounting holes. One is 3mm in diameter and the other is 6mm x 3mm with no threads. This is needed so the Dinky RC System can be mounted because it uses the farthest away 3mm. The Original Shock Plates can ONLY use the first 3mm. Thus making it impossible to use both. This set should have a plate inside that fixes that at that price or only the bumper mounts. Especially, since it's nowhere mentioned. I bought 2 Chassis and 2 of these sets. Building them is a nightmare and you waste so much money figuring stuff like this out. The documentation is atrocious. In the youtube "instruction" videos the focus is almost exclusively on the features and barely on an in dempth what goes where. Since there are no written instructions. Same goes for the axles btw. Do not use after market SCX10 axles!!!!
