My issue wasn't that I didn't know what a face was— I've been working with SolidWorks, Rhinoceros, and a few other programs for awhile now. I just thought by 'go to faces' you meant switching view modes / select modes / opening up a sidebar labeled 'faces.' I did find a tutorial on Blender though, and it seems to be working. In edit mode, pressing L allows you to select only the contiguous parts around your cursor, which is what I needed. I was able to properly export the Silver Dragon's head as a separate STL, and I can repeat this for the other parts. Thanks again for helping, Miguel.
