My name is Francesco Cosentini, alias “Franz”. I am graduating in Industrial Design at “La Sapienza” University of Rome.
My research has simple and intuitive origins.
From what i remember, I've always paid particular attention to how and why an object that I had in my hands had a certain feature, detail, or function. That's why i started to create my own objects; choosing to be a designer was a natural progression.
I consider myself a daily explorer. I am stimulated by the challenge of acquiring new implements needed to study a new project and I love experimenting and crafting prototypes and mechanisms. I find beauty in the simplicity of an intelligent design, essentiality of forms, emotional charge and the affective value that each object retains and transmits.
Along with my university course, it was very important to me not to lose contact with the work environment, so I continued my personal experimentation and participated in various competitions, sometimes winning prizes.
Just as important to me is a multidisciplinary approach and exchange with other minds, so I founded with Germana Musco, my fellow architect, A.ROOM, a multimedia project that allowed me to experiment in disciplines close to my main area of study. Together we worked for MAXXI, URBAN VISION and other experimental projects that we pursue in parallel with our main business.
