Solar System models - all planets and major moons
cmhatem You are correct that the Sun would only be 3inches, I (off the top of my head) gave a difference in volume not diameter. I guess that's what I get for making ten seconds worth of math in my head available for all the world to see and correct.
cmhatem @Gus555 off the top of my head Jupiter is about 1300 times the size of earth and the Sun is about 10 times the size of Jupiter. To keep faithful to the designers logarithmic scale I guess we would make the sun about 6 times larger than Jupiter so....6 inches maybe? All of this is severely compressed to make things fit where we want yet still be able to see them. They call it space because there's so much empty "space" between everything.
cmhatem @Gus555 Ton answer your question, putting the solar system to scale, it would be several kilometers wide. perhaps almost 6 or 7 miles. To make things simpler, if the Sun were the size of a soccer ball, the earth would be the size of a pin head, Jupiter would be the size of an acorn and Pluto would be a kilometer away. In other words, the actual scale is too big to appreciate with planets this size. Just make it fun.
