Silent Cap for Optimus Polaris Optifuel Stoves
Bigdog @ed_friday Thanks for the email to my business address, Ed. I'm glad we were able to solve the problem by having you read the online instructions for the PolarDawg silent damper cap product. As you said to me in your reply, "Hi I have re-read your instructions and have concluded that the issue was underburn as a result of incorrect priming, so my mistake! Thanks again for designing such a great product" I'm happy that you were able to self-diagnose there is nothing wrong with the product, but, rather, with your technique and that all is now working correctly. BD
Bigdog @felixgretschel Thanks for your purchase. If you are needing the cap to come out of the stove, I have a nice little video that shows you how to do the job easily with no tools required, even while in the field. You can find that video right here: Thanks again and happy camping! BD
Bigdog @riverratworm The client refused to accept a refund or replacement. They were able to resolve the "issues" themselves. It's not uncommon for a small amount of polishing debris to clog some of the holes on the caps. This polishing material is easily removed with a sewing needle and is not really an issue. Thanks! BD
Bigdog @dennertmike@dennertmike Hi The cap fits loosely on the burner. But, as I describe in the product instructions, you can wire the cap to the stove if that sort of thing is important to you. I keep my cap wrapped in a small cloth in the stove stuff sack. You can look at those instructions right here: Hope that helps. Happy camping! BD
Bigdog @melwit Sorry you had this problem. It's disappointing that you commented without first contacting either I, BernieDawg, or Shapeways to obtain a resolution to this first time ever printing error. If you could kindly do so, I'm sure either I, or Shapeways would get you a properly printed cap. They can reprint it for you, or, I can custom machine the diameter and the incomplete holes to your specs. We both have great service. Here's my addy: so I can get you fixed up. You can contact Shapeways customer service right here: I look forward to resolving your problem when you send along your email. Thanks! BD
BD OmniDawg for Primus OmniFuel or Omnifuel II
Bigdog @pedemand Thanks! Glad you like it. Because the X2 is a reduced-power Omnifuel burner, I actually recommend a DragonTamer 3 cap for use with the standard jets of the X2. As you have discovered, to get the OmniDawg to work right with the X2, you have to increase jet size. Please be careful with your Trangia, though,, as this OmniDawg/X2 powerhouse combination you've put together throws out a lot of heat. Watch you don't melt your Trangia surround. Happy camping! BD
