MILW/CRIP Budd Bilevel Gallery Coach
baseballislife98 The original version ONLY appeared with the "Long Letterboard". A second version, purchased by the Pre-Metra RTA in the late 1970s looked similar and had no overdoor letterboards. Some of these cars saw service on the Rock Island before shutdown (March 30, 1980.) These cars also appear to be constructed of an aluminum alloy rather than stainless steel.
baseballislife98 Budd Co. Job 9679-240, 162 Seat Gallery Coaches, Ordered 7/60, Delivered 6/61-9/61. Milwaukee Road 7242-7256 and Rock Island 140-154. Rock Island simply added fifteen cars to the MILW order, thus the same order no. applies to both roads. Most or all of these are still in service on Metra today. (Stainless steel is forever, or nearly so.)
baseballislife98 What "minimal modification" needs to be done to make this fit on a Walthers PS Bilevel chassis and interior?
