About Me

For the past 7 years I've worked full time as a senior mechanical designer in the Aerospace & Ocean Engineering Department at Virginia Tech by day and on a part time basis I run my own mechanical design consulting business, Accushape 3D LLC. I am willing to look at any job and can give you honest feedback to help you realize your ideas. I prefer to work from hand sketches provided via email with as much detail as you can provide. I will provide you with a preliminary design in solidworks, 3dpdf, or edrawing form along with the time spent on your job (in .10 hour increments) and once the final (printable/machineable) version is agreed upon, I will invoice you for the work carried out. Once invoice is paid in full, .stl files will be emailed and you will be able to upload to your store and begin the print process. My rate is $60/hour and is charged only when you are satisfied with the design progress. I have provided some additional info about my background: -associates degree in Machine Technology -worked as a machinist 3 years prior to becoming a mechanical designer -15 years experience in mechanical design using Solidworks exclusively. -designed systems and parts for use in fiber optics, electro-mechanical enclosures, nanomaterials, piping systems, case packing machines, & product design. -heavy background in design for additive manufacturing specializing in fdm and polyjet print media.
