Ouch&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p><!-- s9ymdb:1554 --><a href=\"http:\/\/recyclebot.tumblr.com\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"509\" height=\"375\" style=\"border: 0px none ; padding-left: 5px; padding-right: 5px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shapeways.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/recyclebot12.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><!-- AddThis Button BEGIN --><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\">var addthis_config = {\"data_track_clickback\":true};<\/script><a href=\"http:\/\/www.addthis.com\/bookmark.php?v=250&amp;username=shapeways\" class=\"addthis_button\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"125\" height=\"16\" style=\"border: 0pt none ;\" alt=\"Bookmark and Share\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shapeways.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/lg-share-en22.gif\"><\/a><script src=\"http:\/\/s7.addthis.com\/js\/250\/addthis_widget.js#username=shapeways\" type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script><!-- AddThis Button END --><!--more--><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>One of the solutions is <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/recyclebot.tumblr.com\/\">RecycleBot<\/a>,<br \/>\nwhich chews up plastic milk bottles (probably High-density polyethylene<br \/>\n(HDPE)) then extrudes it as a cable suitable for feeding into a<br \/>\nstandard <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.shapeways.com\/blog\/archives\/521-The-Shapeways-Makerbot-Bunny.html\">MakerBot<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Sure the hardware is a little on the brutal side but this is a great idea to get more sustainable materials into DIY 3D printing. Also I am not sure how this affects the extruder head temperature and we do not yet see any products coming out of this experiment but four weeks work.. well done team.<\/p>\n<p><!-- s9ymdb:1555 --><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"503\" height=\"378\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shapeways.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/recyclebot3.jpg\" style=\"border: 0px none ;
