{"id":26310,"date":"2016-07-21T17:57:17","date_gmt":"2016-07-21T21:57:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shapeways.com\/blog\/?p=26310"},"modified":"2017-04-17T12:09:12","modified_gmt":"2017-04-17T16:09:12","slug":"shapeways-supports-eu-net-neutrality","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.shapeways.com\/blog\/shapeways-supports-eu-net-neutrality","title":{"rendered":"Shapeways Supports EU Net Neutrality"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Shapeways has long been a supporter of Net Neutrality, so we were happy to be able to join a <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1ldr-_93Jdry_FYa40QmXqjQY1BJzjXhEe601TYNLL9o\/edit?pref=2&amp;pli=1\" target=\"_blank\">letter<\/a> from the European startup community in favor of strong open internet rules in the EU.<\/p>\n<p>Shapeways started in the Netherlands and has continuously relied on a neutral Internet to reach our customers. To the same extent, the Shapeways community\u00a0uses the open\u00a0internet to connect with other members and customers around the world.<\/p>\n<p>Fundamentally, our letter asks the EU not to weaken net neutrality rules with loopholes. \u00a0Regardless of whether they are called \u00a0&#8220;specialised services,&#8221; &#8220;data cap exceptions,&#8221; or &#8220;class-based traffic management,&#8221; loopholes that allow ISPs to pick winners and losers undermine the core ideas of net neutrality.<\/p>\n<p>All of this and more is why we join the call for strong net neutrality
