Comprised of tech and impact innovators from around the world we were hosted in the gorgeous <a href=\"https:\/\/www.finlandiatalo.fi\/en\" target=\"_blank\">Finlandia Hall<\/a> for two days of panels, presentations and discussions about the future of tech in the lives of children around the world.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_22920\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shapeways.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/21408102438_dc0e1eb91f_o.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-22920\" class=\"size-full wp-image-22920\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shapeways.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/21408102438_dc0e1eb91f_o.jpg\" alt=\"\u00a9 UNICEF eLearning\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" data-wp-pid=\"22920\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.shapeways.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/21408102438_dc0e1eb91f_o.jpg 480w, https:\/\/www.shapeways.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/21408102438_dc0e1eb91f_o-360x270.jpg 360w, https:\/\/www.shapeways.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/21408102438_dc0e1eb91f_o-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-22920\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u00a9 UNICEF<\/p><\/div>\n<p>On the Future of Skill panel I was joined by moderator <a href=\"https:\/\/su.org\/faculty-speakers\/kathryn-myronuk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kathryn Myronuk<\/a> Faculty &amp; Coach: Synthesis &amp; Convergence, Singularity University, <a href=\"http:\/\/summit.unicef.fi\/#\">Roshan Paul<\/a>\u00a0CEO Amani Institute,\u00a0Virginia Tam co-founder of Lean In China and Kristina\u00a0Kaihari, Counsellor of Education at the Finnish Ministry of Education, Finland\u00a0to discuss how to prepare today&#8217;s youth for the jobs they will do in the future. We all agreed that it is important to incorporate 21st century skills like self-learning, collaboration and perseverance in the face of failures into the modern classroom. The complex world issues that today&#8217;s youth will inherit call for creative problem solving and resiliency in order for new ideas to succeed. 3D printing is a powerful tool to tackle some of these very problems, turning software tools into physical tools and allowing new ideas to be tested rapidly and improved upon.
