Kickstarters continue to use our platform to help their campaigns and prototype new products, and we&#8217;re excited to work with even more groups to help bring ideas to life.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to prototyping, we&#8217;ve supported campaigns in various ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Fulfillment:\u00a0<\/strong>In 2011, Joshua Harker started a campaign for $500 to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shapeways.com\/blog\/archives\/1159-Innovation-Amplifier-Crowdsourced-Capital-and-On-Demand-Digital-Fabrication.html?li=crowdfunding\">fund Crania Anatomica Filigre<\/a>. In less than two months had had not only exceeded his goal, but had raised more than $77,000! He immediately turned to Shapeways to print nearly 1,000 of his skulls for his backers.<\/li>\n<li><strong>API:\u00a0<\/strong>After a hugely successful Kickstarter campaign, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heroforge.com\/\">Hero Forge<\/a> began using the Shapeways API to support their web-based app and build their business. With our help, they are able to offer their customers more choices in materials and design for their products.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Shapeways Shop:<\/strong> Last year, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shapeways.com\/shops\/coolest?li=crowdfunding\">Coolest Cooler<\/a> was the big story. After an amazing campaign, the team had to hustle to fulfill orders in time for the holidays. Because they received way more orders than expected, the team turned to Shapeways and opened up a shop with mini-versions of the popular product that backers could give as gifts before the real thing arrived.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The ability to present a new idea and gain support from strangers is one of the most amazing things about Kickstarter. Now, their creators have even more resources to build their businesses and we&#8217;re thrilled to be one of them.
