This week we have a short interview with Marion Russek, miniatures designer of the shop Modern Dollhouse. Starting with wanting her own modern furniture, Marion has a unqiue approach to how she chooses what to 3D model and print. We wanted to highlight Marion to show a new approach to 3D printing – you don’t always have to design, rather work with what already exists!<\/p>\n

Tell us a little bit about yourself: Who are you? Where are you located?<\/em>
\nI am Swiss, live in the small but economically quite well known town of Zug and spent some 20 years of my live in Southern Africa. I am a \u2018natural\u2019 at bringing people together \u2013 that is why I have my own business as a headhunter for employers. No cat, no dog, but two grown up kids and my independence \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

What’s the story behind your designs? What inspires you?<\/em>
\nDesign, architecture, function, landscaping, etc. are my passion ever since I can remember. But because I cannot own everything I like or change my home all the time, I started building model houses in 1:12. In a way this is no big surprise: my father was a professional model railway builder. I do the design of the house on the computer using Live Interior 3D software, make the electrical plan and then get going with either foamboard or wood.<\/p>\n
