There’s a marketing theory that says it takes three exposures to make a sale. It can be anywhere: online, in a magazine, at a craft fair, on a blog, or twitter. After seeing a product three times, people recognize it and are more likely to buy it.<\/p>\n
I want to try a simple experiement to see if it works: Just tweet your best product from your shop. <\/p>\n
Hop on Twitter and use your 140 characters to lead people to your shop. Pick a feature to highlight, link to your shop, and leave about 15 characters space so it can be re-tweeted.<\/p>\n
Here’s my example: New Mobius Loop Earrings perfect for a picnic in the park, dangly, light and kinetic! tinylink.toyourshop @shapeways <\/p>\n
If every shop owner does this on Tuesday, not only will you each see an increase of direct traffic to your page (from people clicking on your link) but also hopefully the traffic in Shapeways Shops as a whole goes up. Once people are on your shop page, they can see related products and shop for them too, increasing exposure for everyone.<\/p>\n
So get set for todays TWITTER TUESDAY. The best time to tweet is 9:30am your local time, but anytime will do!<\/p>\n
On Wednesday, I’ll tweet the results of our efforts. If it works, we could make it a weekly thing.<\/p>\n
