It’s the Year of the Maker, and boy was that evident this weekend! Shapeways was out in full force at the Bay Area Maker Faire in San Mateo, along with about 150,000 visitors.

Pictures are worth 1000 words, so here’s some of our favorites!

On Friday we had a fabulous meetup with FormLabs, TinkerCad, Occipital and TechShop – people got 3D scanned, made letterpress cards, voted for our new swag and printed out on the Form1.

On Saturday, the fair opened with a cheer and people streamed in…and they didn’t stop till 6pm Sunday! Our booth was packed as people played with the material wall, cast their vote in our Swag Contest and entered their #ShapewaysSelfie pics to win store credits.

It was great to see some of our shop owners had their own booths in the Faire: Lincoln and Christina below, Susan was next to us and Hong joined us in our booth.

On Sunday, Natalia spoke on the Make Live stage about the future of 3D printing. We joked about jetpacks, printing cats and you can watch it all here

Also this weekend, our European team was at the Mini Maker Faire in Trieste, Italy and you can read all about their adventures tomorrow.

To find us in your part of the world, keep up with us on the Events Page, and let us know where we should go next!
