Event Roundup: Newcastle, Westport and Washington D.C

What a crazy weekend! Shapeways was all over the Northern Hemisphere this weekend with community events.

With thousands of visitors attending the Newcastle Maker Faire, this sure was a successful event. On Saturday Ralph, Alan Ruud and Ryan teamed up with Shop Owner Steven Gray displaying his designs, and they managed to meet some Storm Troopers too.

Over in the USA, Dan was joined by Susan, John, Jeffrey and Lorna in Westport for the Mini MakerFaire. The sunny weather had them outside under the tent and they spoke with hundreds of families from the area.

In Washington DC, Blair, Eric and I were joined by 150,000 kids for the epic Science and Engineering Festival. With interactive science exhibits, astronauts, lasers and robots, we were joined by Drew, Rich and Tony and Marylyn Karp displaying their work and helping us teach kids about the possibilities of 3D printing.

We hope to see you at events in your area, so let us know – where we should go next?
