Shipping Info

We ship worldwide by UPS. We always use this freight carrier and can not currently make any exceptions.

Delivery time

We try to get your product to you within 2-3 weeks, depending on the material. For personalize your own the delivery time starts when the designer has adjusted your product. For all other orders we count from the moment we receive your payment.  This means within 10, 14 or 21 working days if you pay directly by credit card or Paypal. If you pay with an E-check on Paypal it takes 3-5 working days for your check to get cleared. You need to add these to the standard working days for the material that you order.

Shipping time

Typically it will take UPS 2-3 days to ship your product. For some countries, such as Australia, shipping might take as much as five days. You will receive a UPS tracking email once we have shipped your order. You can use this email to track your package. It also has the UPS details of your order in it should there be any issues with the UPS delivery. To minimize VAT and/or import duties we generally ship from the same continent you order from. So if you are shipping to the USA, your order will be shipped from our New York factory and if you are shipping to Europe or the rest of the world, your order will be shipped from our Eindhoven factory.

PO box

We can not accept PO box addresses for UPS only accepts street addresses. Besides the guys from UPS love the smile on your face every time they get to deliver a Shapeways package!

Different shipping address from my own?

You can select one payment address but you can ship to as many addresses as are on your gift list. Your payment address should be consistent with the billing address if you want to pay with a credit card. In the other address field you can enter a friend's address, your mother's, your boss' anyone really that you would like to give the gift of Shapeways to.

Duties and import tax

Please be aware that shipping charges do not include international taxes or duties (fees). Contact the customs office in the destination country for information about any applicable duties or taxes.

Goods shipped outside of the United States or EU will be described to your local customs as plastic or metal goods. Depending on the country, there is often a tariff of 5-18% of the total amount and a brokerage fee of approximately $5.50. This will be invoiced separately by UPS.

• Sandstone 3D prints - HS code 6913901090 - 3.5% tariff
• Stainless Steel 3D prints - HS code 83062100 - 0% tariff, though there might be 15% additional tax for bullion decoration objects

If an order is placed on www.shapeways.com and then refused, you will be responsible for the original shipping & handling costs, as well as any duties, taxes and/or customs charges that were incurred in shipping the package. Shapeways has made every effort to minimize our international shipping charges. We only charge our cost for these services.

We do not make any profit on our shipping services to international customers. Also, we are required by law to disclose the full value of the package contents and cannot alter this value. If you have any shipping questions or comments please fill out our feedback form. 

We can not currently ship to Russia

Customs authorities in Russia have recently tightened restrictions on import shipments to Russia, in particular on dutiable shipments sent to private individuals. These shipments are currently under extraordinary scrutiny in an effort to improve accuracy of the accompanying shipping documentation.

These additional requirements lead to an unprecedented number of customs holds and delays in delivery. UPS has therefore temporarily suspended the acceptance of dutiable shipments sent to private individuals in Russia until further notice.  Please accept our apologies. More info is given by UPS.
