Paying on Shapeways

Shapeways uses Paypal as a payment provider. Paypal supports the following payment methods:

• credit card (all major brands) – no Paypal account necessary
• bank transfers (some countries) – only with Paypal account
• Paypal account – for those of you who are experienced internet shoppers and sellers

Order process

Once you press the order button you will be directed to our Order pages.

Here you can:

• review your order
• enter your shipping details
• select your gift wrapping wishes and
• get a summary of your order
• find out, if applicable, how much VAT you will be paying
• conclude that we are awesome because UPS shipping is included in our prices.
  

Credit Card

You do not need a PayPal account to pay via PayPal. You can simply pay using a credit card.

In the US you can use American Express, MasterCard, Visa and Discover (has anyone ever actually seen a Discover card?).

In some other countries (such as the Netherlands) you are only allowed to pay with Visa and MasterCard.

You simply fill in your Credit Card information, get to review how much you will be paying again and click the Pay Now icon.

Afterwards you can go back to Shapeways. If you want to review your order you can always check it under your mydesigns tab.

Bank transfer

If you do not have a Credit Card you can pay via bank transfer.

One thing you should know when doing this: PayPal and your bank take around four days to figure out that one of them gave the other one money.

This means that we will not know that you have paid for five days or so. Only then will we be able to start to produce your model. It is unlikely that you will get your model within ten working days after ordering it if you pay with bank transfer.

Having said that: the process of paying by bank transfer is very easy with PayPal.
