Creator start up issues

These are the solutions to the most common issues with starting up the Creator:

You might not have the latest version of Java.  You can download that here. Java is a programming language that allows people to write applications such as the Shapeways Creator that work on all browsers and operating systems. In order to use applications written using Java you have to have the Java JRE installed on his machine. The JRE or Java Runtime Environment is probably already on your machine but you might have to update it.

Something got corrupted during the download process. This happens when you start up the Creator and the initial download was stopped or aborted for some reason. In order to solve this you can clear your Java cache. Sounds complicated but it really isn't. There is a quick little tutorial on our tutorialpage explaining how you could do this. After you've done this re-start you're browser and everything should work perfectly.

Open GL drivers. Open GL is a standard used for 3D rendering. The drivers for this software are already present on your machine but might need to be updated. There are different drivers depending on your video card. Here is a list of all major video drivers and links to where you can update them.

If you have an issue that is not solved by one of these two methods please post on the Creator page on the forum.
