Here's my super long 7-foot (approx.) necklace made of 185 octahedron links. Each link is a little under 5/8 inch by 3/8 inch (16mm x 9.5mm).

This silver bauble started out as two octahedrons of different sizes. The faces have been separated and rotated so that the vertices of each of the smaller triangles touch a vertex of one of the larger triangles.
