About
In an effort to promote a true engineering environment, kid*spark has partnered with Rokenbok Education to release an Open Source Library of building parts. The Open Source Library currently boasts over 100 parts that can be freely downloaded, modified, and 3D printed. This student engineering system allows anyone to conceptualize, build, and improve their own creations in a way that was previously only accessible to engineering professionals. kid*spark is also developing curriculum with the Open Source Library to give STEM educators engaging lessons from preschool to high school that will promote building, inventing, and making. The Open Source Library is the perfect companion to the 3D printing revolution, providing a whole host of parts that are compatible with both desktop 3D printers and commercial 3D printing services. The Open Source Library has three segments: • Library parts - construction parts from 20 years of Rokenbok development, now free for everyone. • Custom parts - enable Makers to create new types of mechanisms and machines, download and print! Universal joints, bearings, and more. • Customizable parts - can be modified by anyone–no 3d modeling experience required!
