7mm/ft 1:43.5 chairs for BS95R bullhead rail. Based on the LNER NE region designs of 1926 they have a 1.02mm flangeway for functional use with ScaleSeven. They may also be used as cosmetic additions to your 7mm/ft scale 1 in 6 common crossing (a.k.a. acute crossing or, incorrectly, frog) whatever gauge you use.

Sufficient parts are provided to enable two 1 in 6 common crossings of either hand to be constructed: 6X, 6A, 6B, 6C chairs; knuckle block; wing blocks; bolt heads and washers.

Note that these 1 in 6 common crossing chairs are designed to be used alongside the injection-moulded ABS chairs and code 125 bullhead rail produced by C&L.

LNER Railbuilt Buffer Stop

7mm/ft 1:43.5 scale model LNER stop block as measured at Bishops Stortford in 1997. There is also one extant by the goods shed in the East Anglian Railway Museum at Chappel and Wakes Colne station.

This is a kit of parts requiring the builder to provide a crossbeam from rail or wood (approx 8ft x 14in x 7in, these items are ideal); some glue and paint.

The diagonals and uprights are overlong to enable the builder to replicate the attachments to a second track panel located beneath the running line; this helped keep the real thing stationary when hit by a moving train!

I believe this design may have originated with the GER as there are photographs taken in May 1911 at Ongar (published by Irwell Press in "Great Eastern In Town & Country, volume 3") which show a couple of examples. The uprights seem to be fixed to the inside of the running rails, rather than the outside, and the wooden crossbeams seem to be of the order of 9ft x 18in x not very thick.

The rendered images show in pink the items included in the kit -- all other items must be provided by the builder. Note that the kit is designed to be used with C&L moulded ABS chairs (which raise the rail clear of the sleepers) and code 125 bullhead rail.

T.W.Ward No. 11b Buffer Stop

7mm/ft 1:43.5 scale model railbuilt buffer stop from the 1972 catalogue of Thos W Ward Ltd, Railway Sidings Division, Albion Works, Sheffield. There is no doubt that such designs were used by many railways for a number of years before this date. The design is ideal for modellers as it allows the maximum use of siding length.

4 Bolt Chair Press Tool

7mm/ft 1:43.5 scale press tool to put the impression of a 4-bolt rectangular chair into a wooden sleeper either by force (hit with a hammer, squash in a vice, spring-loaded centre-punch or mount in a drill-press) or by burning (mount in the end of a soldering iron).

The width of the press tool is a scale 10" so guides can be bolted to either side enabling the tool to be centred within the sleeper.
