About
Shop
Hi, my name is Woody64 and due to a historical interest I have started to create hats and helmets compatible with LEGO® Minifigs as a hobby. During the last years I have created a large collection of Minifig accessories from the ancient past to the near future.

Ordering
All these designs are shared via this shop and can be ordered from the 3d printing provider Shapeways where this platform is lying on.
The exact look and feel of the designs can be judged best in the 3d view, where the item can be looked on from different  angles.
If you want to purchase one of these items I would recommend versatile plastic (which includes the option to choose of some predefined colors) for the smaller price range and  smoth fine detailed plastic for the larger range.
For black I would recommend  "PA12".

To achieve more attractive prices many items are available as packs (i.e. 5x = 5 items, 10x, 15x and even 20x).
Please take a look in the packs section to see if a pack is available. If it's missing try to contact me to see if I can provide such a package.
Please consider with 3d printing you can create singletons but you can't achieve prices as reachable with injection modling.
But on the other hand you will have a very specific piece in hand which only exists some dozens times around the world.

Please also consider that you buy the item from Shapeways, who is responsible for order handling, 3d printing and shipping.
(since 3d printing is still an envolving technology Shapeways may reject some designs based on newer design rules. In most of the cases I'm able to fix that within some days).

Bearer and fitting
To achieve better pricing some N x items are placed on a bearer. Please use a side cutter to separate the pieces.
If you feel the fitting is to loose (3d printing has some tolerances) please use a layer of tissue above the plug and after pushing the item on the head the fit should be more tight,

Postprocessing
Please keep in mind that you get 3d printed items which are the base for further activities. Postprocessing like coloring with Acrylic colors and sanding may achieve excellent results. If you are using the items as produced you may choose processed versatile plastic  in any color. Still you will see some grainy surface. On photos this impression is more visible then in reality. If you take a look on the items from a normal distance it's even hard to recognize. But still it's not injection molded plastic.
