TestA-dsm-v2

The purpose of the TestA-dsm-v2 experiment template is to determine the optimal slot width for 1/16" (nominal) thick PCB material and 1/16" (nominal) thick acrylic material.  PCB material is often thicker than 1/16" due to manufacturing variation plus solder masks and silk screens.  Extruded 1/16" (nominal) acrylic is often thinner than 1/16" since it is actually 1.5 mm thick.

Submit the TestA-dsm-v2 experiment template in the material of interest and determine the optimal slot width via comparison with the actual materials.

icosahedron-golden-rectangle-dsm-v3

Icosahedron construction using three golden rectangles.
Rectangles are 30 mm by 30*phi mm (phi ~ 1.61803398875).
Longest dimension is roughly 57 mm.

This version increases the thickness of the golden rectangles
from 0.5 mm to 1.0 mm so that Shapeways can print the design.
Also, some holes have been added to the golden rectangles
to reduce the amount of material used (and thus fabrication costs).
The little indent at the vertices is an artifact of the way the edges
are extruded from cylinders.
