[ digimorphé ] explores the domains of creative coding and digital fabrication.
Code is used as a tool for inspiration and experimentation and the products highlight the characteristics, aesthetics and possibilities of digital fabrication.
I envision myself as a "digital artisan" and [ digimorphé ] as an open playground for experimentation and innovation. I explore the possibilities given by open source software and hardware, creative coding and generative design and 3D scanning and digital fabrication.
Why [ digimorphé ]? The first part, "digi-", is taken from the Latin word digitus, “finger". The word “digital” is also derived from digitus. My aim is to combine and explore the contemporary meanings of “digital” and “finger”, the latter in a more general understanding of "handmade". The second part of the name, "-morphé", is taken from the ancient Greek word for “form” or “shape”. So essentially I deal with forms in the broadest sense, using both digital tools and my hands.
