This design was done for the Shapeways weekend emblem of the Shapers contest seen here.
The six sacred owls surround the outline of the Shapeways star as seen in the Shapeways logo. The owls and the Shapeways star are only seen head on whereas at other angles it only appears as a strange abstract design. I'd say more, but it's a SECRET!
A little cartoon husky I sculpted. He's 3 inches or 76.2 mm tall and hollow with a 0.0866 inch or 2.2 mm wall thickness.
Please note, the speckles seen in the default render are related to an error with Shapeways' default rendering engine. The 3D item as printed will not have these speckles.
This a diagrammatic representation of a deoxyribonucleic acid molecule made into the form of a ring. It's a US ring size 6, which is 0.65 inches or 16.5 mm inside diameter.
The first known ouroboros design was found in the Enigmatic Book of the Netherworld in the tomb of Tutankhamun dating to about the 14th century BC. This desing is completly smooth as opposed to the typical designs one finds that have scales. It's a US ring size 9, which is 0.75 inches or 18.9 mm inside diameter.
When you order you will receive a pair, so you only need to make one order. I have another design like this one, but without the traditional fixed backing and I also have a double sided version.
I was just goofing around on this. I thought! I thought it'd take about 20 minutes, yet it ended up being about 6 hours! =D That's cuz of having to stick to Shapeways design rules while at the same time making the ring size nominal. This is an US size 10, which is 0.78 inches inside diameter. Keeping to Shapeways current design rules it can be made no smaller than this.
I wanted to make this out of lapis lazuli, but Shapeways doesn't have that! HAHAHA! =D
