With the defeat of the Gorgol the ESDF began the refitting of its ships wth the new technology. Not a moment too soon as it happened because soon after the peace treaty was signed the conflict with the Mechanized Empire of the Shadow Rift began. A conflict which could not end in any way other than the total defeat of one side or another as the Shadow Rift Empire forced all worlds that fell to it to submit to mechanization or be annihilated. This cls of Battlehip was the main instrument of that annihilation with 4 powerful twin turrets, multi purpose missile batteries, a heavy torpedo armament and considerable armour.
