The Thumb Half-Rail (Bridge Half in this case) is a long thumb rest for a bass guitar that runs the length of the right hand playing surface (between the pickup(s) and the bridge) allowing for wide range of tone variation with a comfortable and familiar hand position. This eliminates the tone-limiting "thumb on the pickup" locations or hand stretching to get where you want to be to get the right tone and attack. Just play.
Secures at a standard pick guard screw location using your existing screw, making it an easily reversible update to your bass.
This unit is designed specifically for the 70's Fender Jazz Bass (1970-1982 used 4" pickup spacing) and Geddy Lee Signature Jazz Bass and assumes the use of a standard thickness pickguard (2mm). It may fit other models and years, but has only been tested on the following:
FITMENT TESTED ON:
1976 Fender Jazz
1999 Fender Geddy Lee Artist Series Jazz
Message me if you have purchased and found it fits a year or model not listed above.
The Half Rail is available in both NON-Polished and Polished plastics and Alumide. Non-polished has a textured surface which ads some grip keeping your thumb in place nicely. If you prefer a smooth surface, order "Polished Strong & Flexible"...available in colors too.
