The Gomorrah is a high-altitude bomber built during the First Hive War. It was critical in the development of high altitude (out of atmosphere) bombing. Initial design studies for the Gomorrah began in late 1890. High altitude test drops performed with experimental platforms in January 1891 indicated the idea was broadly feasible, but the low accuracy of the initial test drops made the concept a low priority. It was only the appearance of the Hive in March that renewed interest, especially after the loss of the
Aerial Sovereign. A crash development effort was undertaken and the first two ships were ready for the Spring Offensive of 1892.
