Product Description

A set of four bolsters for the WW1&2 Rectank wagon in N-gauge. These seem to have been fitted to the wagons for general peacetime use, as Bogie Bolster A (ex Rectank). Clean out the holes in the top surfaces with a fine drill bit and insert thin wire that has been cut to a suitable length. They will need to be glued to the wagon after painting, to stay in place, and a good seating will probably need some light filing and scraping of the wagon deck. Other designs of bolster were fitted when the wagons were built originally: these had no stanchions and seem to have been adjustable along the deck for placement at each end of a loaded battle tank. In our scale they are too small to print and process here so if you want these I suggest making them from something like 0.75mm x 0.5mm section styrene strip, with creative shaping and embellishment to the level of detail you want. Another kind of bolster fitted to these wagons after WW1 was of more conventional 9" x 10" timber. Still too small to be printable in our scale, but also easily made from say 0.75mm square section polystyrene strip - or buy the model that has them built in!
