Product Description

Located in Denali National Park and Preserve, Denali (formerly Mt. McKinley) stands 20,320 feet (NAVD88) above sea level, and a world's-highest 17k-19k feet above its base (Mt. Everest measures "only" 12k to 15k feet above its base because the Himalayan Plateau is already two miles high). Everything about this mountain is big. The North face rises an astounding 14,000 feet in just three miles, and the South wall nearly 9000' in a little over a mile. On clear days, it is visible over 100 miles away. This model features the entirety of Denali plus many surrounding ridges, glaciers, and peaks. Mt. Foraker, 14 miles southwest, is 2800' lower but similarly towers over the surrounding ridges and peaks. Only with a true-to-scale 3D model like this can you appreciate the timeless shape of this incredible mountain.

Model scale is 1:118800
Model covers an area approximately 11.1 by 11.1 miles
Altitudes covered: 5135' to 20320'
There is no vertical exaggeration applied to this model. This is a true-to-life scale model of a real place.

TinyMtn models are most affordable in the "Sandstone" and "White Strong and Flexible" materials. This model is in "Sandstone," which is a glued gypsum material. When you receive the model it will be ready for display, though it may smell funny and need some time to air out. "Sandstone" models are much more brittle than "White Strong and Flexible" models, but feel more like light stone. Do not soak it in water, though you can safely seal it with Polycrylic or a similar water-based clear spray sealant. Read more about this popular material here.

These models have been optimized for the above materials, and are not offered in other materials for strength or cost reasons. If you need one in another material, please contact us and we'll do our best to fulfill your request.
