A wax seal on your letters and packages grabs attention and sticks in people's memory because they see it, touch it, and smell it. Most have only seen one in a movie in the hands of a knight or king, so they think it must be important.
This ring bears the emblem of a Master Mason on top, the Square and Compass, and the other Working Tools on the sides and outside the band - there are 24 hashes to represent the 24 Inch Gauge. Typically I'll engrave the date a man was Raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason inside, but that can be replaced with another short message.
This ring does not have the large G commonly seen inside the Square and Compass - this is because the ring and its wax impression are always mirror images of each other, so one would need to be backwards. By keeping the design symmetric, both are the right way. I can add the G back very easily - please send a private message to make arrangements.
Caution: remove signet rings from your hand before using to make a wax impression. The ring will get hot. Please be careful to avoid burns when using hot wax.

In some rare instances, Shapeways stainless steel, bronze, or brass rings have caused a reaction called "tea staining." This is a (not permanent) brown mark on the skin caused by a chemical reaction with the bronze binder. So far only one customer has reported this, and research shows that it depends on skin chemistry - some people always get it, most people never do. Some solutions for people concerned with this are coating the skin contact area with clear nail polish, gold plating, or getting the ring made in silver.
Gold and platinum materials are enabled to give you an estimate. Due to the very high cost per cubic centimeter, please send private message for a quote, as changing the ring size may make a big difference.
