This is a kit to convert a Walthers C&O caboose into a Clinchfield caboose. *NOTE* This model is still being tested, so a proper fit is not guaranteed!
There is a sprue between the walls, which serves to support the walls during printing and shipping, and which holds the roof walks, chimney, bathroom vent (a spare vent is included, because it's small and easily lost), and steps. Carefully separate all the parts, then glue them together using CA glue.
Disassemble the Walthers caboose, and set the roof, cupola, and steps aside for another project. Shave the windows and any other projecting details off the sides. The replacement body should slide down over the original body. The sides do not go all the way down to the bottom of the original sides - this is by design, to replicate the partially exposed frame on the prototype. mark the locations of the windows, then remove the body and cut out openings where the windows will be.
If you want an interior or window glazing, install them prior to gluing the replacement body onto the model, as this will permanently seal the interior of the caboose. Glue the body together using CA, and glue the replacement steps in place.
