It''s a solid of constant width, based on the modified Reuleaux tetrahedron first described in 1912 by Ernst Meissner and Friedrich Schilling in the paper Drei Gipsmodelle von Flächen konstanter Breite. Type 2 is a very similar solid, also available in my Shapeways shop.
