The Torrid Sky is built around the hull of the Turbulent Sky Destroyer. Like its counterpart, it performs a point-defense role. The Torrid Sky is designed to work with the support element, however, rather than the chase element. It carries four torpedo turrets to provide the support element with their own torpedo ships, but itself carries no heavy energy weapons.
