Product Description
PRELIMINARY NOTE: THIS IS A PRELIMINARY MODEL. I, the modeler, have not received my first print of this model, so I have not tested it in real space. In particular, there are a number of curved surfaces that may need manual smoothing to function properly. Further, some walls in the model have been flagged as weak by Shapeway's software; these may (or may not) come out deformed, but my assessment as a modeller is that they are not structurally important and can be molded or clipped to function on arrival (final assessment pending my receipt of my model). Purchase now at your own risk; I should have my first by about March 14. (END PRELIMINARY NOTE) The shoulder blade (either side) for B.J.'s Posing Wing Skeleton. Design concepts include: -Every joint has a screw hole for a tension screw. With the proper size screw, the tension in the joint can be adjusted, so it can be set in any position. One full wing will require two #6 machine screws with nuts and three #4 machine screws with nuts. -The wings are intended to bear a cape, so the humerus and ulna are thicker to bear its weight. A lighter, cheaper modification could be made based on my models. -Joints are designed to be held together with common hardware store parts. One wing should require four long hex bolts holding the shoulder socket halves to the shoulder blade, one hex bolt holding the humerus and ulna together at the ulna, two 1/8th inch square tube segments holding the wrist fork and wrist eye into the ulna rotary bore and the carpus rotary bore, respectively, and one 1/8th inch pin holding the wrist fork and wrist eye together (this last one, I intend to keep in place by deformation).
