Geometry:
Spiral Fracture is based on my Fracture-10 puzzle, but with an additional "twist". With Spiral Fracture, 45 degree turns can be used, allowing face and edge pieces to exchange places. This is achieved through the use of curved slices. The curved cuts also make the internal parts visible, which is why there are gaps between the stickers.
Other Items Needed:
Dye: If you want the puzzle to be black, you can save money by dyeing the pieces yourself with a nylon dye such as RIT or Dylon. Or Shapeways can dye the parts for you at an additional cost.
Stickers: Template available in the instructions forum. If you want professionally cut stickers, I recommend Oliver’s Stickers.
Screws & Springs: The puzzle snaps together, so no screws or springs are needed.
Degree of Difficulty:
Assembly: Moderately easy assembly.
Solving: Extremely difficult to solve.
Playability:
Spiral Fracture has a robust mechanism that does not pop apart, and turns easily.
Have fun!
