I find the hardest part of making a point or turnout is accurately cutting the two rails that make up the frog. Soldering the rails together once formed is easy using the KBScale Crossing Jig but cutting the rails at 9 degrees is harder, and personally I found it very frsutrating.
This simple jig was my solution to the problem. The two parts of the jig clamp around the rail leaving a channel through which a razor saw can slide to accurately cut the rail at 9 degrees. The jig is symetrical so both left and right rails can be cut to form the full vee.
For use with
Peco IL-115 rail and
KBScale Crossing Jig CJ02. Requires two 12BA nuts and bolts to complete.
