Nano Clamp Companion (Dog Bone)

This dog bone looking thing is for Strobist photographers who wish to use the Manfrotto Nano Clamp or other small clamps to attach speed lights or small cameras to objects much larger than the clamps claws would normally allow.

This is especially useful for Strobist photographers who wish to travel with as little gear as possible while still being able to exercise their creativity.
Leave the stands at home when traveling. By taking just a nano clamp, ball head, cold shoe, straps and this Dog Bone you can still use your remotely fired strobes any where there is a tree or pole or lamp post or almost anything you can get a strap around.
Replace a heavy, bulky stand with a handful of bits that weigh only 250 grams (9 oz).

The Dog Bone is used by placing it behind a strap wrapped around your surrogate stand. The Nano Clamp is then clamped to the bone over the strap. The clamp’s claws pinch the strap to add a bit more tension while also locking the whole arrangement together to create a very secure mounting point for your strobe. (Video below).
It’s even strong enough to mount two Nikon SB900s, one Pocket Wizard FlexTT5, an umbrella spigot and Umbrella.

The design includes a hook for cable strain relief or hanging a battery pack or radio trigger.
