HO scale old time locomotive detail variety pack 1

HO scale old time locomotive detail variety pack 1. Contains parts that fits the new Bachmann (all new tooling) standard 4-4-0. The set also can be used for other early pre 1900 locomotives with adaptions. The parts are based on drawings in the book Recent locomotives from 1886.

The set contains:

-1 pc cowcatcher with vertical staves

-1 pc cowcatcher with horisontal staves

-1 pc small diamond smokestack 23mm long (approx. scale 78")

-1 pc medium diamond smokestack 22.5mm long (approx. scale 77")

-1 pc cap stack 19mm long (approx. scale 65-1/2")

-1 pc smokebox door. Based on Baldwin 4-4-0)

-8 pcs mudguards + 2 extra(in case of breakage). Deeper than the ones that are mounted on the Bachmann 4-4-0.

 

NOTE! This set has longer diamond stacks than variety pack 2

The set is best printed in Shapeways material frosted extreme detail.

 

Prior to painting the parts should be thoroughly cleaned in denatured alcohol and dishwashing liquid to get rid of the process wax. Use primer coat and then enamel or acrylic paint. They may need some sanding depending on how they where oriented when printed. The cowcatchers are mounted by first cutting off the cowcatcher on the donor model. Then glue on the cowcatcher using a small piece of styrene or brass as reinforcement beneath it. Refer also to the photos. The smokestacks fit directly to the top of the smokebox. Some sanding may be needed for a perfect fit.
