FOC Grimlock Head Kit

FOC Grimlock is a seriously good mold, but I love his head in the IDW comics. So, I made this custom head. It's based on the IDW character with the teeth inset in the sides but I also gave it a few additional details to make it original.

The head is made in two pieces so you can paint the eyes before inserting to get a nice crisp line between his face and eyes. The back of the head snaps right in and the seams are on the back so you'll never see them. I also felt like Grimmy's head needed a bit more freedom of articulation so I created the included neck peg. The peg is slightly longer than the original so he can look down more. To install it, you'll need to clip the existing peg and drill a hole slightly larger than the ball on the new neck peg. Then just slip the new peg up from the bottom through the hole and use a dab of superglue to hold it in place. Installing the new neck peg is strictly optional, the head will pop right onto the existing peg if you don't want to replace it.

I have successfully tested this model in WSF and white detail material. Both work well but there is a grainy texture to the WSF that is not present in the detail material. I recommend either a detail or polished material for the best appearance after painting. Be sure to check out the Twin Blaster I have for Grimmy as well!

UPDATE on 12/18/13: I've added separate models in my shop to purchase the front of the head and the back insert separately so the back can be printed transparent and dyed to provide light piping.
