Product Description
Does your Lexus CT200h phone bracket no longer hold your new iPhone 6, 6 plus, or other large phone? I bought an iPhone 6 and was surprised to see that it wouldn't fit in the phone holder in my CT200h.
The original top retainer bracket would only allow a phone that is about 5-1/4" tall. I have an updated retainer bracket that will allow phones and tablets up to 6-1/2" tall to fit. It is made in the black, strong and flexible material, and while it doesn't match the finish of the original bracket, you need to look closely to see the difference.
I'm back on-line with this new bracket now, and I'd like to make this available to other CT200h owners.
Pictures show the rendering, the old (shorter) and new (longer) brackets, and the phone holder with a tape measure showing the 6.5" possible phone height, and an iPhone 6 in the bracket.
Installation:
Removing the old bracket is easy. Remove the 6 Phillips Screws and set aside. Now very carefully separate the two halves slowly. There are two springs, with two ball bearings inside, and if you are not careful, they will shoot out and you will need to hunt for them. Remove the old short bracket piece, and replace with the new piece. Be careful and re-fit the two springs and ball bearings if they have fallen out. The ball bearings form the detent mechanism for the bracket, and are critical for proper operation. Snap the two halves back together, and replace the 6 screws. Verify that the bracket slides up and down easily when the locking tab in the back is released (sticking out). The bracket should lock in place when the locking bracket is pressed flat to the back.
Now carefully peel back to foam piece at the top of the original bracket, and stick it on the new bracket.
You are good to go now!
