Blackvue DR650 cam adapter - Carry Speed MagFilter

This adapter enables you to mount a 36mm Carry Speed MagFilter to the front camera of your BlackVue DR650 dashcam. The magfilter is a polarizing filter that greatly reduces the glare and reflection in your car windshield, which significantly improves the quality of your dashcam videos. (A customer reports that the adapter also fits the FRONT camera of the DR650S.) (Another customer reports that the adapter also fits the FRONT camera of the DR750.)

Some notes:
(1) The Carry Speed MagFilter is NOT included! You must order it separately from such places as Amazon, Adorama Camera, MoGoPod, or other vendors. Make sure to get the 36mm size. (Also, the dashcam is not included either!)

(2) The adapter was designed to fit the FRONT camera of the DR650. (Blackvue dashcams have subtle dimensional differences, even if they look the same. Therefore, except as noted below, this adapter will probably not fit other Blackvue models.) It does not fit the REAR camera of the 2-channel version of the DR650. Nor does the adapter fit any other BlackVue model dashcam. (A customer reports that the adapter also fits the FRONT camera of the DR650S.) (Another customer reports that the adapter also fits the FRONT camera of the DR750.)

(3) The White (or Black) Natural Versitile Plastic material is recommended, since it resists heat and has the flexibility and toughness needed for installation.

Some installation considertions:
(1) *See second-from-left image above* The adapter is shown at the upper right. An earlier design is at the upper left. The new design (upper right) grips the dashcam much more tightly, which is nice when you are rotating or removing the filter. The foreground shows the MagFilter adhesive backed ring (left) and the polarizing filter (right).

(2) *See third image above* To install the adpater, slide it along the dash cam body until it hits the lens barrel.

(3) *See fourth image above* Lift the adapter over the lens barrel. The photo shows this partially done.

(4) *See fifth image above* Continue until the adapter snaps into place.

(5) *See sixth image above* Install the adhesive backed ring.

(6) *See seventh image above* You can then put the filter in place. Since the filter is held magnetically, you can easily rotate it or remove it.

(7) *See eighth image above* The orientation of the filter is important for maximum reduction in glare and reflection. First, park you car so that you get a lot of glare and reflection in your windshield. Then, hold the filter (by itself) about a 1 foot or 30 cm in front of your eye and rotate the filter until you get the maximum reduction in glare and reflection. Mark the bottom of the filter in some way - such as with the piece of yellow tape shown in the second image . Then, orient the installed filter so that the marker is at the bottom. The photo shows what you should see from the driver's seat.
