Product Description
This model shows 6 zinc fingers bound to DNA. The scale is 10 million times real life. DNA is shown in blue and the zinc fingers are in orange. Zinc fingers are small proteins that fold tightly around zinc ions, or other metals like iron, to help stabilize their structure. Named after the finger-like protrusions that bind along the grooves of DNA or RNA, zinc fingers play a role in gene transcription, translation, protein folding, among many other functions.
