Anatra D "Anade" (various scales)

Russia's Anatra D "Anade" was accepted into service at the end of May, 1916. It was a two-seat reconnaissance plane powered by the 100hp Gnome Monosoupape rotary engine. Though some 780 were ordered, the orders were cancelled after 205 were completed due to accidents related to poor workmanship or materials. In April 1917, some 76 were at the front, but their numbers dwindled over the coming months until the October revolution. After the revolution, the Anade likely served in the Russian Civil War.

This model comes in several scales.  The 1:285/6mm/1:288 model contains two aeroplanes, and each has a translucent, detachable propeller disk instead of propeller blades.  They are joined by disposable links to keep the price down, since single-part models are more affordable.  You can break the links with nail clippers, wire cutters, or similar.  At 1:500 and smaller, eight aeroplanes are included, connected on a sprue.  You'll have to carefully remove the planes from the sprue.

DESIGNER NOTE:  Models at scales smaller than 1:144 may no longer be available.  Shapeways discontinued the material for which they were designed, and the newer materials require that each and every model be adjusted to thicken surfaces like wings.  If you are interested in a particular model in a small scale, please let me know and I will prioritize it higher in the queue.
