Surreal Chess Set - My Masterpieces - The Rook

This is not just a chess piece - this is a piece of art - this is a Masterpiece! - this is:
- Mysterium Cosmographicum Fractalium - The tower of Kepler.

Hyper Surreal Fractalic Mystical Chess - My Masterpieces is a project I have been subconsciously working on since I started exploring the cosmos of 3D fractals in 2010. I have always admired Max Ernsts, Marcel Duchamps and Dalís sets, but I wanted a set which was more true to the original idea of surrealism. With the help of 3D fractals and 3D printing I could make it a reality.

To construct the pieces I have been using the very best of my artworks,
my masterpieces, from a period of over 4 years.

The full set is a play in 7 acts about humanity, the evolution and the quest for knowledge through enlightenment and superfluity until the day when mankind finally became the plague of the planet.
* Each piece has its own character and story.
* Each piece is a piece of art in itself.
* Each piece has a (surreal) resemblance to a standard chess set.
* The pieces are robust, not hollowed and light like many 3D printed objects.

The Rook is taken from my image "Mysterium Cosmographicum Fractalium".
Full title: Further Development of Keplers Cosmological Essays, Which Contains the Secret of the Universe; on the Marvelous Proportion of the Celestial Spheres, and on the True and Particular Causes of the Number, Magnitude, and Periodic Motions of the Heavens; Established by Means of the Five Regular Geometric Solids and the new Kaleidoscopic Iterated Function Systems.

The Mysterium Cosmographicum Fractalium was the end result of my many attempts to find the perfect relation between the mysterious Menger Hyper Cube and the Icosahedron.

Each piece bears my signature underneath the bottom plate, if you buy the complete chess set (piece by piece or all 32 pieces at once) you will recieve a hand signed certificate of authenticity if you send me your address and a proof of purchase in a PM.

You will need two white and two black Rooks for the Chess Set.
On the photos the pieces are on a board with 5 x 5cm (2 x 2 inch) squares, it works, but 6 x 6cm (2,4 x 2,4 inch) squares would be preferred. I am working on designing a 3D printed board.
