Product Description
In 1913, the newly created Denver & Salt Lake Railroad (the "Moffat Road") took delivery of 300 50-ton capacity all-steel drop bottom gondolas from the Western Car Foundry. These cars were numbered 34000-34299, featured arch bar trucks and were painted black (with white lettering). The cars were re-equipped with Bettendorf trucks around 1924. These gondolas cars served the D&SL (and later D&RGW) well into the 1950s. This N-Scale model of a Denver & Salt Lake 34000-Series gondola is fully assembled but requires weight, a brake wheel, paint, decals and trucks to complete: standard Micro-Trains Bettendorf (or arch bar) trucks are recommended. These cars have been tested to handle 9 3/4" minimum radius curves when equipped with the recommended trucks.
