Product Description
This set includes the rafters for the Prince Edward Island Railway/ CNR 1904 Standard Booking Station. The rafters are highly visible under the wide roof overhang on these stations. They include the fancy rafter tails, as built. Some stations lost the tails on their main roof late in life, but almost all retained them on the dormer roof. Regardless, these rafters will simplify the task of building these stations. If some tails are not required, they are easily removed during assembly.

The "cluster" of rafters for each corner comes assembled, which will save a great deal of heartache and effort for the model builder.

These stations were built at eight locations on the Murray Harbour branch in 1905: Hazelbrook, Vernon, Vernon River, Grandview, Melville, Wood Islands, Murray River, and Murray Harbour. A station was built at Montague Bridge in 1906, and a slightly modified station was built at Elmira, the easternmost point on the PEIR, in 1911.

Full details on the PEIR structures can be found in my article in the July 2011 Model Railroader Magazine.

These parts can also be used to build a number of Intercolonial Railway of Canada/ CNR stations.
