Avenger X

Eric Lucero's superhero character, the Avenger - the X is the Roman numeral 10, or decimus; the root of the word decimate, which actually means to reduce by a tenth (rather than to utterly destroy, as it seems the word is taken to mean these days) after the practice of the Roman Legion of punishing a unit by the execution of 1 of every 10 soldiers therein - officers were not exempt BTW. That's why his knife is more a of a gladius. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
