About this Product

The diamond lattice consists of carbon atoms, each bonding to 4 others (except at the edges of the model). The carbons are located at the center point of a tetrahedron and bonded to another carbon atom at each of the vertices of the tetrahedron. The tetrahedrons then align with cubes arranged in a 3D checkerboard pattern, with all of the tetrahedrons having a similar orientation. There are a total of 75 carbon atoms at the ends of the line bonds in this model. The file was created in Mathematica. It was thickened and single bonds at the edges were removed in Blender, and the file was cleaned up in Netfabb Cloud. It is printed with square cross sections of 1 mm, to print in both color and white plastic, and metals.
